We previously featured London post-punks Normil Hawaiians in our ’80s HITS’ series. A week ago a new compilation of their early material came out on Upset the Rhythm. Dark World gathers the group’s singles on Dining Out and Illuminated Records, their Gala Failed EP (on Red Rhino) and an inspired Peel session from 1980, together with outtakes, rarities and demos. Documenting the early phase of the band (1979-81), this 14-track LP (plus 8 bonus tracks) shows their progress – eventually leading to the release of their much-loved debut album More Wealth Than Money.
