Northern Industrial Movement is a Scottish club and mix series from the remote city of Inverness that have recently expanded into a label as well. Run by Kester and Swærm, they’re focused on the ‘darker and harsher’ end of the techno spectrum. They’ve just put out their first compilation, called Unification of Harsh Realities Vol. 1 and spanning 10 artists from different continents. Most of the tracks include elements of industrial and EBM and you’ll find familiar names like Alpha Sect and Magnum Opus among the contributors. The local contingent is filled by Paulitical, Ethan Fawkes and New Town Ground. Crying Skies from Latvia and Evil Dust from London are also among the highlights here.
