Steve Goodman’s influential Hyperdub label have been working with Berlin-via-Kuwait artist Fatima al Qaridi for a while, releasing their first album in 2014. Al Qaridi was at the time also a member of Warp recording collective Future Brown. Back in May a fourth solo record came out on Hyperdub, called Medieval Femme. The 10 tracks are inspired by classical poems by Arabic women, building on the work al Quaridi created for Atlantics, a movie that won the Cannes Grand Prix a couple of years ago.
