Standing In the Shadows Vol. 1 is the first instalment in Meanbean Records’ series documenting the lesser known groups of the American powerpop era. As the subtitle clearly states, this is ’14 rare 1979-1983 North American Power Pop Hits. It includes plenty of unreleased tracks, like Treble Boys’ “Classified” from 1982. Several are also appearing on vinyl for the first time, like this great track from Regular Guys out of Kansas. The LP is sold out from Meanbean, but there’s a second volume on the way already.
