Warm Drag was one of the most unexpected discoveries of 2018 for me. Their self-titled LP on In the Red seemed to appear out of nowhere with Vashti Windish and Paul Quattrone songs already perfectly formed. Quattrone may be familiar as a drummer for Osees and !!!, but here the duo are working with sampled beats and sequencers. Their latest single “Butch Things” however, is a straight up cover of a glam single by actor Billy Hamon from 1978. The flip of this Six Tonnes De Chair release is a weird Lee Hazlewood disco number.
