The Cincinnati label Wasted Tapes has been reborn as Future Shock. Their first release under the new name is a cassette edition of The Serf’s most recent album for Detriti. The second one is The Drin’s Engines Sing For the Pale Moon – a kind of lofi New Order style post-punk bordering on Lavender Flu wierdness outfit. Info on them is scant but they’re from very same city according to someone on youtube. “Down Her Cheeks a Pearly Tear” is as good as some stuff on Movement and Chris Marker tribute “Fate In Disguise (La Jetee) sounds a bit like This Mortal Coil. “For the Tsarina” is straight up Head On the Door Robert Smith songwriting.

Add YoursJust bought it from Drunken Sailor Records and I’m glad I did. What a great one. Post-Punk, New Order and all that great sound effects. And yes that drumming is excellent.
