The established Detroit Underground label say that they specialise in electronic based experimental music and video installation. Those two things come together nicely in Valicha’s latest project Invisible. The Peruvian artist Valicha Evans spent many years in Mexico City only to return to Lima and started the new festival Arista for avantgarde electronics. Working with both visuals and sound, her first album as Valicha intertwines a techno sound with field recordings and influences from Peruvian Andean music. The video “El fantasma” was created together with Rafa Roeder and is my favourite audiovisual work of the year.
