Spanish label Abstrakce have just reissued one of Wayne Horvitz’s albums, originally released in 1986 on the German experimental label Dossier. Wayne Horvitz is a jazz musician and producer of electronic music from New York, where he was a part of the avantgarde scene since the late 70s – also playing keyboards in Naked City. Dinner At Eight is an album that is both challenging and enjoyable in its mix of composed and improvised parts. The 11 tracks were recorded with both acoustic and electronic sounds, creating a wide sonic palette for the listener. Almost every track is a surprise.
