Lumme is the fourth album by Finnish sound artist and musician Cucina Povera (real name Maria Rossi). It was released a couple of weeks ago on the US label Primordial Void (here’s an interesting interview with their founder) on cd – its length actually exceeds a vinyl 12″. That’s partly due to the opening track “Sinisen Ruusun Tapaus” which consists of improvise hammond organ and voice that enthrals the listener for some 20 minutes. It was also accompanied by a video Rossi shot from a bus window on the way to work in London. The rest of the album is also impressive and I’m looking forward to seeing her perform at the Intonal festival next week.
