I.C.G. is definitely one of the most interesting artists in Brazil right now. Having released an album on Meia-Vida back in 2019, the follow-up that came out in January takes a much more experimental approach. Exostrata consists of 10 tracks that come with my favourite description of any release in years: “While arts and music discourses abound with ambitions of ‘world-building’, exostrata acknowledges and explores the extant and incommensurable nonhuman lifeworlds emerging from organic putrefaction and digital decay.” It’s released by Most Dismal Swap, which is a London-based record label and art project specialising in mixed-reality experiences.
