Croatian artist Strahinja Arbutina’s mini-label Optimism Is Out to Get You have just released their first record dedicated to a single artist (Nape gets the honour), but back in March they managed to squeeze out their third compilation as well. Number 3 features the usual irreverent curation and includes 16 track on one cd. Fans of the Low Income Squad collective will enjoy the tracks from Americans DJ Salazar and Strait Jacket, as well as Gutkein and Slaughter Mask from Russia. But there’s more than just dirty trancey techno and acid here. I.C.G.’s “Genohunters” is beautiful ans Seul Ensemble from France (who just released a tape on Clan Destine) brings the groove.
