Zauberstab Vol. 1

LIO Press is a new Barcelona-based label founded by Alicia Carrera and they’ve just announced their first release. The various artists compilation Zauberstab Vol. 1 is a fascinating look into underground electronic music across two 12″s. The 11 tracks range from minimal wave (from CDRip), psychedelic grooves (Eve Geist’s and Donato Dozzy’s new duo Poetas Sónicos), italo (Cosmic Palms) to down-tempo. I particularly love the trip-hop feel of Megamal’s “Everything Is Fucked” (a collaboration between Carrera herself and Benjamin Sánchez).
