We were big fans of Das Das’ debut LP on Detriti from last year, so it’s great to hear that they have a new album out almost exactly one year later. Das Das is a Berlin-based duo consisting of Cosey Mueller (vocals and guitar) and
Jo Schwund (synth and programming). Their new LP Leben in Bildschirmen was just released digitally and will be available on vinyl from Detriti in September. The 8 tracks are once again betraying influences from DAF, Suicide (especially on the only English language track “Invisible Man”) and German post-punk. It’s a happy union of guitars and synthesizers over minimal beats that propel the songs into a retro-futuristic dystopia. Even the fully electronic tracks like “Zeitmaschine” and “Kalte Zelle” feel well balanced.
