To the Mother of Gods – an LP that came out on Beats In Space in 2019 – was my introduction to Greek artist Anatolian Weapons. He has been incredibly prolific in recent years, releasing a wealth of edits and mixes of Greek music from the 60s and onwards on his bandcamp. Real name Aggelos Baltas, Anatolian Weapons is from Athens and had a new EP out on Berlin label Kame House at the beginning of the year. The three tracks on Mantili are downtempo gems, but even better is the fresh split with Linja on Russian label Serenades. Baltas’ side is psychedelic electro heaven, nicely complementing the Russian artist’s tracks on the b-side.
