Lost Girls, the Norwegian duo formed by Jenny Hval and Håvard Volden, who have already been collaborating for a decade, with Volden usually performing live with Hval’s solo material. Their first release as Lost Girls was the 2018 EP Feeling, which consisted of two long audio tales. Their new album Menneskekollektivet is also released by Smalltown Supersound, about a month back. The five, mainly electronic tracks exist on the fringes of what can be called pop – at times recalling the John Cale-recited story “The Gift” by Velvet Underground, transported 50 years forward in time.
