Marina Allen is an LA-musician and songwriter who is about to release her first album Candlepower on Fire Records in June. It’s a short album with just seven tracks but it resonates with so much talent, tapping into Karen Carpenter’s style just like Weyes Blood, but with a more homegrown sound that is all over “Sleeper Train” which was recently shared with a pastoral video. “Oh, Louise” that is playing on bandcamp is one of the most beautiful songs of 2021 so far. What’s not to love about this record? Even the cover is looking stunning.
