Have you heard the new album from Los Angeles psychedelic group Hoveriii yet? If not, it’s a great addition of the trio of Californian releases from Cool Ghouls and Triptides that we’ve already had this year. This their fourth album, Water For the Frogs is a substantial improvement over their 2018 self-titled effort. They’ve got a decided King Gizzard bent on the best and closing track “Gone” which stretches over 10 minutes. But they are also shining elsewhere, showing both restraint and whimsical abandon, on e.g. “We’re Both Lawyers”. Out on the Reverberation Appreciation Society last week.
