Folded Voices is an experimental hyper-pop project by New York musician Bret Kaser (also in Lip Critic). Kaser first started using this name with the 2019 EP Acetone. All Velcro, which is the artist’s first full-length is out on Opal Tapes in a couple of weeks. It’s a 9-track cassette that is as intense as it is unconventional. Titles like “Vipers In My Mattress” and “1,000 Jokes Per Minute” go a ways towards explaining the experience of listening to Folded Voices. It definitely sounds a bit Japanese it its curiosity towards different genres and they way they’re all thrown into the melting pot here. These are hits from an alternative universe.
