RECORD TURNOVER 80s HITS #60
Chuzpe was a Viennese punk group who released their first single “Nowadays Pop For Pure People” in 1979, which already had bit of a polished powerpop flavour. Earlier this year Bachelor Records released a set of demos and outtakes, titled Terror In Klein Babylon, which documents an earlier phase of the band when they were more punk. Most the songs on here are in German, but they would later switch to English, with their second single being a Joy Division cover. Before the 1980 release of “Love Will Tear Us Apart” however, the group had another single that was finished and ready to go. Why “Women In Prison” was never released is unknown but a couple of weeks ago it was finally given the release it deserves thanks to Bachelor Archives.
