Skiftande Enheter from Gothenburg have a new single out on the Atlanta label Chunklet at the end of the month. “Lögn” is a new classic of underground Swedish pop that builds on the strengths of Snubblar genom drömmar from 2019. It’s a lovelorn ballad that reminds me of Even As We Speak, with a beautifully melodic bass line. “Bättre Förr” on the flip leans toward the garage revival of the 80s, with organ and lofi guitars. The minimalist drumming here adds a lot to the production, being placed in the centre of the mix. JJ Ulius trademark half-spoken vocals adds the final element to something that is truly unique in a Swedish context.
