Anna Funk Damage is an Italian producer from Livorno who has appeared on a few compilations we’ve featured recently. I was about to write about his album from last summer – You Are a Hopeless Failure – that came out on Swiss label Lux but I never got around to it. AFD’s sound is a unique mix of drowsy vocals and sharp EBM with an undercurrent of freaky new wave. His new album Hard-Core Soft Porn was given a limited release on tape back in January, by the ever tongue-in-cheek Raw Culture, also based in Italy. Tracks like “Send Pic” and “Punk Girl” are not without an unnerving sense of humour.
