We recently wrote about Beige Banquet, whose label Just Step Sideways have just announced a new cassette release. This time it’s Todd Briefly, another London musician who’s releasing a set of demos that were originally meant to become an album. Demos is out in a few weeks, with six lo-fi tunes sounding very much like The Cool Greenhouse but with a ripping guitar sound taken straight out of the Fire Engines/Josef K playbook. The ironic spoken work lyrics are a cornerstone of the sound, as you can hear on “The Extensive Waterways of the United Kingdom”.
