Valuemart’s debut release on Detriti a few days ago may be setting a new direction for the label. With a sound heavily influenced by The Cure’s Faith era, they’re by far the most approachable band on the label and not averse to promotion. In an interview for avantgarde lifestyle magazine Kaltblut, California-based frontperson Tory Knowles explains how he started the project while living in Australia. Now a full band, Alice Underground is their third album and was preceded by the singles “Tokyo” and “Vapors” – the latter being the first music video published by Detriti.
