The Colours That Rise is a London duo that released their debut album on Rhythm Section INTL last year, after having appeared on their Shouts compilation. Since then they’ve gone from strength to strength with a brilliant Boiler Room set as well. Mixing jazz and funk into an electronic landscape, their music speaks of the future in a retro sci-fi language. Rhythm Section just unleashed their new Mixtape 1 with three tracks, two of them recorded live. Opening track “Special Request” stands out for its use of live drums, thanks to collaborator Yussef Dayes.
