Hangman Satellite is one of the best new UK labels I have come across, with releases from DJ Valentimes, Ludgate Squatter and Strahinja Arbutina just to name a few. Their latest release is a retrospective release by Nikolajev, an Estonian producer who also runs IDA Radio. The five tracks on Sahtel were recorded over the course of the last five years and nicely straddle the fine line between post-punk and ambient/industrial. The dark soundscape of “Life’s a Gas” makes the title even better. Probably the best release I’ve ever heard from an Estonian artist. The tape was released less than a month ago and is still available.
