RECORD TURNOVER 80s HITS #51
Diseño Corbusier is not only one of the best band names out there, they also made some groundbreaking music. The electronic duo was formed by Javier G. Marín and Ani Zinc in Granada 1981. They were early adopters of the cut-up technique of William Burroughs and used it make tape loops. Their first album Stadia from 1983 (reissued by Dark Entries in 2016, along with compilation tracks and some unreleased stuff) was only released as a cassette on their own Auxilio de Cientos label. Suitably minimal, it contained 6 tracks of otherworldly industrial electronics. They went on to craft two more albums on vinyl, both of which have also been reissued but are now out of print.
