It’s been five years since Swedish electronic producer Andreas Tilliander released his second album as TM404, a project in which he utilises analogue equipment recorded live. Being one of Sweden’s most celebrated electronic artists, he’s had a two decades long career starting out making glitch-based music. I have vague memories of seeing him perform back then and listening to Ljud, which I got from the public library. Besides making ambient as Mokira, the TM404 moniker might be one of his most successful so far and I really loved his performance at the Intonal festival. On Syra (acid in Swedish) he delivers more organic techno and acid sounds for Malmö label Kontra-Musik, much of it over slow, boiling rhythms.
