I first heard Yu Su last year, on the massive SHOUTS compilation, celebrating five years of London label Rhythm Section INTL. After that I discovered the Canadian artist’s debut EP, which came out on Second Circle (a sublabel to Amsterdam’s Music From Memory). I think Yu Su’s eclectic take electronic music is among of the most exciting things happening currently, so I was very pleased to hear that the first longplayer Yellow River Blue just came out on MFM. It’s a collaborative release with the new label bié from China, where Yu Su toured a couple of years ago. Check out the video for opening track “Xiu”.
