DJ Valentimes from Chicago started releasing records last year, mainly through his own Chicago imprint Puppy Tapes, but also on Russian label Ectopic. Puppy Tapes released the Nape 7″ we mentioned recently and they share some stylistic elements. Last year both of them also released tapes on LA label Spektator. Valentimes’ tape Descent consists of six tracks of industrial techno sounds with the odd bit of trance and acid. If there were any dance floors last year I reckon several of these tracks would have been on heavy rotation.
