Another cool Scottish label is Source Material out of Aberdeen and started a few years ago. Various Artists Vol.1 is, as you’d guessed their first compilation 12″. Among the four artists represented you’ll find one of my new favourites Luz1e, hailing from Frankfurt. She opens the set with the wild acid-laden electro of “Dynamix”. DJ Frankie from Spain (pictured) does much the same on the excellent “Shake It”. Also really enjoying the bass-heavy track from Ole Mic Odd – all the way from LA. Label head Nonentity closes out what is record you’ll really want to own.
