RECORD TURNOVER 80s HITS #40
Vox Populi was formed by Axel Kyrou in France 1982, making experimental music with guitars and synthesizers, as heard on the self-released tape Introduction À La Théorie De La Subjectivité Relative. The music quickly evolved from minimalism with the addition of Kyrou’s wife and her brother to the band, as the first album Mysticismes came out in 1985, also on Vox Man. The new direction has been called ethno-industrial, and this classic LP was finally reissued some six months ago, on the UK label Platform 23. Most of their music has now been reissued and the original group reformed a few years ago, planning to release new music.
