No one could have missed the esteemed Kit Sebastian who arrived with a fanfare in 2019 with the the Mr. Bongo album Mantra Moderne. A modern classic already, it got a deluxe reissue last year and two bonus tracks were also released as a standalone 45 during the summer. While “Rain” was one of the French/Turkish duo’s best psychedelic tracks, their new single takes a jazzier bossa-via-Stereolab approach. Both sides feature lead vocals from Merve Erdem and are equally worthy of a-side status. The 45 dropped on Mr. Bongo just over a month ago.
