Here’s what is probably the harshest release we’ve featured this year in terms of sonic attack. The second album from Soft Issues is a compact mess of techno, industrial sounds and noise that represents a development towards the extreme edges of harmony compared to last year’s self-titled record. This one is also out on Opal Tapes – sadly it’s already sold out following its October release. The nine-minute long “Atrophy” is a chilling trip through atonal noise, feedback and madly distorted vocals. This album requires a good sound system, or your ears will probably suffer from the high ends.
