Gaye Su Akyol has returned with an extravagant EP, following her acclaimed album from two years ago. Yort Savul: İSYAN MANİFESTOSU! came out on Glitterbeat a month ago, along with a video for the title-track that looks like something out of Ghost In the Shell. It’s a psychedelic rock tune (Isyan Manifestosu! literally means rebellion manifesto) and the title of the EP also refers to a poem written by Ece Ayhan in the early 80s. As usual Akyol is full of politically charged vitriol and the other two tracks – while quieter – feel every bit as caustic.
