Sydney-based artist Romæo, whom we wrote about in a few months ago has returned with a second single as well as her first video. “Stare” is a captivating tune that couples the sweet with the dark – taking inspiriting from the likes of Charlie XCX. The music reminds me a bit of US/Australian duo Sugar High who explored a similar aesthetic on their debut from earlier this year. Last weekend Romæo did a live performance for the very first time, in Sydney supporting Jordan Kenny. Hopefully there’ll be more gigs to come now that lockdown is over down under.
