Blue Crime is an Amsterdam-based shoegaze-inspired (think Loop) band with a few singles to their name. Despite being around for quite a long time, September’s I’m Afraid We’ve Become One is the band’s first fullength. It was recorded and released by the Meduse MagiQ collective, which also includes Spill Gold (Nina de Jong plays in both groups). The album shows an impressive mix of textures and harmonics, which is not far from what you’d come to expect from Sonic Youth. The vocals here are much more melodic through, making this a very enjoyable listen.
