The synth-pop album by Rexy that appeared in 2016 was a bit of an enigma. Originally released in 1981, it was recorded by a young duo that had met in London. It doesn’t sound like anyone else. Imagine my surprise when I noticed that Rex and Vic had released a new album in 2020, almost 40 years later. Not only that, but they also appear on a 12″ from Tomasz Guiddo that came out on Beats In Space last summer. “Narcissist” is a great tune and apparently the new album Rexy II has been in the works since the duo reconnected thanks to social media. They released it digitally in March, but apparently an early version had been shared with Vice two years ago.
