Your Friday 13th just got heaps better, because guess what, your favourite DIY group Real Numbers have announced a new record for Slumberland. Brighter Then is a five-track EP that sounds like the scrappy Minneapolis punks have… grown up? Sounding more like Marvelous Mark than caUSE co-MOTION on the jangly title-track, the group have also added a fifth member on keyboards. As they sing “these things happen” I can’t help but think of the Action Painting! single of the same name. A definitive Sarah Records sound on this track, which comes with an animated video created by none other than Carolyn from Parsnip. This is the first 2021 release we’ve featured, it’s getting close now.
