Melbourne faves Civic take a step out of their traditional punk terroir with their new and first single for the Flightless label. On “Radiant Eye” the group show that they can handle a longer format and even an unexpected horn arrangement. Full of rock’n’roll tropes, this is a single that will appeal to fans of the uglier side of 80s rock. On the flip is a cover of The Creation’s classic “Making Time” which is nowhere near as interesting as the original, but as least shows they have good taste. The single came out a few days ago, so be quick.
