We recently wrote about Lee Paradise, the solo project of Dan Lee from Canadian band Hooded Fang. He’s also been making music in a duo setting with April Aliermo from the same band, called Phèdre. While their first album, that dates back to 2012, was a bit of an Ariel Pink-inspired mash-up of all kinds of sounds – Phèdre turned toward synth-pop. In 2013 they recorded an EP with five tracks that has taken them until June, 2020 to release. Called Eterna, it’s an inventive record that sounds partly like Broadcast and partly like Horrors side-project Cat’s Eyes. The title-track opens with the sound of a film projector that gives way to a lo-fi coldwave tune.
