Ouzo! is a relatively new band from Melbourne, but they have been playing live a lot – and you tell from their first proper single. “Glorified Junkie” is out today on their bandcamp and follows their inclusion on Billiam’s bushfire compilation tape back in February. Just like “The Martian’s Mistake”, their brand new single is a vehicle for Aidan Link-Freeman expressive vocal style. Sometimes a simple riff get you far when you’ve got the right frontperson. Like their friends in Snake Valley, Ouzo! make music that is both intelligent and fun. The cover, painted by Aidan, makes me think of Dinosaur Jr. somehow.
