Ausecuma Beats is a 9-strong orchestra from Melbourne, including musicians from Senegal, Mali and Australia. Almost one year ago, their first EP came out on Music In Exile – the Australian label that has specialised in working with artists from culturally or linguistically diverse communities. Next month their debut LP is finally coming out and it’s a self-titled record with no bullshit, just eight amazing tracks showing the contrasts and connections between the musicians. It includes the EP tracks, the new single “Yelena” as well as two tracks that are brand new to my ears.
