I’ve been looking forward to something like this for the best part of a year now. Ever since Mr. Teenage (ex-Tyrannamen) released their jaw-dropping demo of “Neighbourhood” in 2019, I’ve been hoping for a proper release. After being lucky enough to see them play live I was more convinced than ever that their combination of street-wise riffs and one of the city’s coolest drummers would take them far. Here it is, the debut EP from Mr. Teenage, called “Automatic Love”. It was recorded by Billy from Anti Fade and adds a dose of punk to their powerpop recipe on the a-side, which sounds like Bad Sports or Radioactivity. Those sweet licks reappear on “Waste of Time” and “Kids”.
