If you were one of the folks obsessing over In the Red a decade ago you might remember the brilliant group TV Ghost. After disbanding, key member Jackson VanHorn has continued making music on his own back in Indianapolis. Taking a more subdued approach on his debut album from 2018, he’s now back with a new LP – out on French label Manic Depression. After the Rehearsal is more polished, influenced by coldwave and not unlike some of Wild Nothing’s early material (still the best Wild Nothing). Check out the starkly beautiful video to “Saturday” – a track that feels inspired by The Cure’s Pornography, especially in the drum beat.
