It’s a productive period for Autumns from Ireland, with two new EPs out on Opal Tapes and Clan Destine – and now another longplayer, called You Always Taught Me Better. I guess it was only a matter of time until there was an Autumns release on Detriti, a label that suits their aesthetic wholly. “Almost With a Brick” becomes the perfect metaphor for what Autumns’ current style is all about. It’s heavy, fuelled by the energy of punk and post-punk – like a brick thrown through a shop window. The album has a beautiful industrial production that really ties all sounds together into a mix that is crunchy as concrete. One of my favourite Detriti releases so far.
