We wrote about Melbourne group Screensaver half a year ago, and they have now followed up on their demo from last year with a brand new single. “Strange Anxiety” came out digitally today on the group’s bandcamp, after being recorded remotely during the pandemic. Like a lot of the music produced during this period it bears the mark of our pessimism and disbelief, but it’s also a huge development for the band sonically. The sound is organic with a chorus that feels a bit like The Chills’ “Pink Frost” updated to the 21st century. It makes us look forward to hearing what they’ll cook up next.
