If you’ve seen Werner Herzog’s magnificent film Fitzcarraldo, you know just what Ficciones Del Trópico is about. Alexander Molero from Barcelona via Venezuela has captured the romantic Western image of the Amazon on his debut album as Molero. Titles like “Jaguar Capybaras” transport the listener to South America through interwoven analog synthesizers and prominent Space Echo. The waves of sound imitate foliage lightly brushing your cheeks as you move through and past. The album was recorded several years ago but was finally released in June. The label who made this possible operates out of the Flur record store in Lisbon. Holuzam, launched in 2018, is the sister label of Príncipe Discos.
