Wibo Lammerts is a Dutch DJ who normally spells his name W1b0. Last year he released a great split-12″ on the Dundee label Hilltown, which also included Robyrt Hecht and Int Main. Earlier this year his first solo release for a good while came out on the excellent Discos Atónicos, based in Berlin. The Heretofore EP includes four tracks of meaty electro with a dark theme. “Fear Tactics” and “Same Size Soul” sound like they’re lifted off a cyberpunk movie soundtrack. The most impressive track, I think, is “A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.” with its intense syncopated bass.
