Cutters is a fairly unknown punk band from Melbourne – or are they from Rye? During the summer they released their debut EP recorded in Rye and on Rye label Legless (also home to Stiff Richards). Cutters is a 3-track heavy hitter and I can see the comparisons to Dead Kennedys. However, a more contemporary reference might be Golden Pelicans, whom they were meant to support on their cancelled Australian tour. The Melbourne pressing plant Zenith has been hit hard by the lockdowns, but these 45s are shipping. The new Stiff Richards LP on Legless is coming soon too.
