Next week, Eartheater’s new album Phoenix: Flames Are Dew Upon My Skin come out on PAN. As the title suggests, it sees the artist rise again as a faux classical composer – combining guitar and piano with a chamber music orchestra from Spain. Much of the album was completed during an artist residency in Zaragoza, and then finished in New York with some contributions from LEYA, who were collaborators on last year’s excellent Angel Dust EP. New singles “Volcano” and “How to Fight” contrast the beauty of harp and piano with minimal electronics. Check out the video for the latter, which is both a back-to-the-roots for Eartheater as well as a reincarnation through fire.
